This is one of those shots that no one will get if I don't explain it. Well, maybe some would but I'm guessing most wouldn't...
I read an article recently about the drugging of our children. Ritalin, Lythium, etc... It seems like kids can't just be kids anymore without the pharmaceutical companies trying to make a buck off it.
Yeah, they help some, but let's try to remember that children are a hyper kinetic bundles of energy and just because they act that way doesn't mean we need to drug them down to a coma state.
Drugs have become the great equalizer and it's a shame.
I love the shot, but I just wanted to say one thing-- I'm thirteen years old and I was diagnosed with ADD when I was nine. Before I was put on medicine, it would take me hours to do a homework assignment that *should have* taken me ten minutes. Sometimes, I'm not even motivated to do the things I love when I'm off of my medicine. Not to mention that I can't just grow out of the hyperactivity. Just imagine being thirteen and having brief moments during which you act like you're seven! So...it's not about the "pharmaceutical companies trying to make a buck off it".

When you say 'equaliser', I think of like...music players and how you can...adjust -stuff- as you please...and that's kind of what the picture looks like~
I agree wholeheartedly with this <3. There is a difference between needing it to concentrate, and using it to shut a child, or anybody for that matter, up.

Faith isn't a comfort. It's a challenge: I dare you to believe in God. I dare you to think our existence wasn't an accident.-Madeleine l'Engle
