nice job! this reminds me of zombies for some reason- i think perhaps because of the first resident evil movie when all the zombies are reaching up to someone with a bloody hand. fantastic and intense concept. you sure have some kick-ass props!

I wasn't thinking directly about Jesus or any real denomination but it definitely has all the religious implications you can think of. It's actually whatever you see it to be.
LOL... I love your perspective!!! I love the resident evil movies. They rock.
I bought all these hands on ebay for $50 I think. I've been looking for them for a while at a resonable price. I have a whole series planned out for them.
Actually 4. Two Canon 430's with 1/4" grids attached at 3 and 9 oclock. Also using Honl Gobo flags to keep the light from hitting low. I only wanted the tops of the hands lit. 1 Canon 530 behind the scene shooting through white plexi. The hand was suspended using all sorts of vices and clamps and a snout was used to focus the light on the hand. The drip is corn syrup and food coloring applies to the back of the hand. The 'set' is actually about 4 feet deep. The hands are front, the hanging hand is back a bit and the background is all the way back. Served two purposes. First I could drop away and not hit the white hands in the foreground. Second, the flash on the hand wouldn't affect the background.
Yeah, I couldn't tell at first if there were three or more. Thanks for all the explanation! I guessed that the top hand was further back, but holy mackerel that's a lot more complex than I thought~
Well done, wonderful shot
