And so it continuesl...
So the first month of my 12 month tenure ends. The best thing about this gig is that I get to see a ton of art that I never would have previously. That rocks!!! I've also gotten to meet a lot of great artists along the way.
If you have any ideas on how this space can be used to get you information you want just let me know. This is your space not mine!!!

News Story with explanation and rules ---
[link] - fave and help spread the word!!!
DD Information - You like something? Send it to me but read this first!
Well lets start the DD suggestions flowing shall we. If you find a Conceptual image you think has merit send it my way!!! Here are some guidelines to follow:

Do not suggest yourself ! it will be ignored.

Send me a note with the subject "DD suggestion" and include a link or thumb with a description why you think the photo deserves a DD. The description is important but doesn't need to be an essay

Make sure the artist has no more than 3 or 4 DDs and none were given within the last 3 months. If you aren't sure about this send your suggestion in anyway, I will look at them all

Due to a crazed influx of note activity I might not respond to your note. If I don't, don't take it personal it's just because I'm flooded. Be assured that they are read and considered. Not all suggestions will get DD'd.

Please, if you disagree with a DD I have given please contact me ^
Davenit and do not leave any rude comments on the artists page or the deviation. It is not their fault they received the DD it is mine.
Miscat - what the heck is it?
Miscat is the term we use for a mis-categorized piece of art. It's also what gallery directors spend about 90% of their time working on. I know, I know, many will argue that art shouldn't be categorized. They will also argue "well, who cares what gallery it's in?"
Here's why it's important in my mind...
1) People on dA search for their favorite types of art through various methods. Through the categories listed or through the search engine itself. If they want to see nature, they go to nature, if they want to see conceptual they go to conceptual. If images aren't cat'd correctly they see a bunch of stuff they don't want to, they get frustrated and they don't look any more. That's not fair to the people who are putting their pieces in the right place.
2) Serious artists take amazing pride in the work they produce and the categories they shoot for. When the gallery is full of art that doesn't represent their genre they are upset by it. Not many will admit to it openly but believe me, they are upset.
3) As a GD I would love spending my time doing other things besides moving images. It's laborious, time consuming and usually generates "hey how come you moved my images" comments from those artists who created the piece. If they were right in the first place, we wouldn't have to waste our time moving them.
So when you go to put a piece up please, please, please think about it a bit. Some of the people who watch me have read some of my journals and taken it upon themselves to move their own pieces. I appreciate that more than they could ever know.
And, to show you all that no one is beyond reproach here on ole dA, I moved some of my own pieces AND I moved some from $
Moonbeam13. She even suggested that I do it.
And in the end...
If you want to know what conceptual art is I could write words all day, but art speaks louder than any writing I could put up here...
All represent a thought before the image was taken not after.
That's it for this month...
Peace/Love/Happiness

I try my very best at locating my Art at the "right places & spots" and I hope I've been successfull at it. You ARE right.. we cannot achieve 100% always but our efforts decreases a lot of mess & confusions while browsing for Art - in serious ways of course, which is the case for so many of Us here at our beloved DA Community.
Way to go,I'm completely supportive of this - we should always strive for organization, even within Art making/displaying.. maybe SPECIALLY within Art making/displaying.
